Surprisingly Mayfield is not expected to be part of the trade package to the Texans, and he will be dealt as part of a separate transaction. Mayfield has expressed his desire to be traded to the colts who are in need of a qb after moving on from wentz.

The Texans will receive three first-round draft picks in the trade in addition to a third-rounder and a late-round pick swap as Watson has made the decision to waive his no-trade clause to go to Cleveland after also meeting with the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers this week.

Watson will also receive a five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract from the Browns, per Ian Rapoport.

Watson changed his mind about playing for the Browns, since he had a no trade clause, the Texans had little choice but to trade him wherever he wanted to go, I guess 230 Million dollars fully guaranteed will make anyone change their mind, it's the most guaranteed money ever given a player

Another thing to remember, he's still probably looking at a suspension from the league, the thinking is somewhere about 6 games, we'll see

Browns have a decent backup in case keenum if watson does get suspended by the nfl for a while.

Yeah I knew all that but Atlanta would have paid him what he wanted too. I donít think it was about money

If watson does get suspended the timing will be very crucial. If it's at the start of the season then the browns will obviously be able to prepare better for it. If it's after the season starts then browns could have problems.

Looking at the rosters of both teams, Cleveland's is much more talented, I guess he figured he'd have a better chance of winning in Cleveland, but he's also going to the much tougher conference, the AFC is fucking loaded compared to the NFC

Atlanta is home, they are in a shit division and Brady will be leaving. The conference is down too and next year they said the Falcons would be about $120 million under the cap. You can build quickly when you have a QB and lots of money to spend

Yes Cleveland roster is better but it is a brutal division and conference. It is also a real shitty weather city. Just seems odd, especially after all the reports that said the Browns were out

There is a reason why one guy is making $12 and the other is making 48 million. Anyone with half a brain can figure it out!

Not anymore they don't:

Cleveland is sending veteran Case Keenum to the Bills for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Saturday.

They replaced Keenum with Jacoby Brissett, not much difference between them I don't think

His decision might have come down to Cleveland guaranteeing all the money, maybe they didn't before, which would explain why he initially said no to them, and maybe Atlanta wouldn't make the same guarantee, 230 million is the largest guaranteed contract in league history, hard to say no to 230 million in guaranteed money, but that's just a guess on my part, he's the only one who knows for sure why he chose Cleveland

NFL officials are scheduled to meet with Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in Texas this week, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, per a source.

CBS Sports' Josina Anderson first reported the news.

Watson faces 22 civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and misconduct stemming from massage therapy sessions. He is currently under NFL investigation for violating the league's personal-conduct policy and is potentially subject to a league-issued suspension.

"We will decline comment," the league said in a statement, "as the review is active and ongoing."

Two Texas grand juries declined in March to indict Watson on criminal charges. The quarterback was soon after traded from Houston to Cleveland in a blockbuster deal, and the Browns signed Watson to a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract with the team.

Watson has been with the Browns during their offseason workout program and is reportedly hosting a few of his new teammates in the Bahamas this weekend.

Cleveland is set to begin organized team activities on May 24.

24 civil lawsuits currently against watson ,not looking good for him. Looks like he will miss a good chunk of the season for sure.
