Raptors game I can somewhat get as the 6ers looked disjointed and threw in the towel midway thru the 4th quarter and the Raps at that point had no reason to play with any pace.
I was watching that Spurs game and was dumbfounded when they didnt foul with 27 seconds left and down 4. Pop ran onto the court and I have to believe he was yelling not to foul because he was on top of Mills and LMA so they heard whatever he was saying. Down 4 and a 2-3 sec differential on the shot clock there should be an investigation I would love to hear what their excuse is in the post game comments. Spurs made a real nice comeback in that game and Denver looked real tight I'm wondering where Denver gets their offense from moving forward if they had a hard time scoring on this shoddy Spurs D. But yes back to your original point not fouling there was inexcusable. Pretty mind numbing the more you think about it PEACE |

LMA claims he didnt hear him and he was a few feet on the court (Pop). Lets say LMA lost track of score and time but there were 4 other Spurs on the court. Just another questionable moment in a long list of them now watching games all these years.

The only thoughts which came to mind were/are that some players on the Spurs are pretty stupid not to have realized the gravity of the situation and/or lets just say that it was in the best financial interests of some folks for Denver not to cover in the deciding game and/or for the Spurs to cover. In short for me the last 20 some odds seconds and what happened(actually didn't happen) didn't make much sense in view of what was at stake in Game 7. |

Spurs really lost track of the situation at the end. DeRozan was yelling to foul. Pop was yelling to foul. Patty Mills was running around without a clue. The players on the court needed to understand the situation and they lost it. Part of that was the Denver crowd. Spurs gave a ton to get back into the game and at altitude, maybe fatigue played a role. It wasn't intentional and had nothing to do with the point spread. Inexcusable that it happened. Pop should've been questioned about it a little more but he intimidates any reporter that asks anything. 28 seconds left with a timeout after DeRozan missed. The game had to be extended at that point. Denver got off easy at the end.

In the Spurs game, it's on the players....Plain and simple. They're not aware of the situation enough to know that they must foul with only 3 second differential and down 4??? Total lack of basketball IQ.
And who knows what Pop was yelling? If he was yelling to foul, he should've yelled more!! |
