Long trip east for Nevada team that split four home games to open season, losing to pair of Pac-12 teams (Utah/USC), beating ULM by 5, Tex-Arlington by 7. Wolf Pack is experience team #73 but continuity team #345- they start three seniors, but are mixing in some transfers. Davidson lost its first two games by 13-10 points to Auburn/Charlotte, then hammered NC-Wilmington by 38; Wildcats are #222 experience team, #20 in continuity- they start three sophs and a soph, have all five starters back from LY’s 24-10 tam that went 15-5 in A-14.

Dayton scored 88 ppg in winning its first two games, beating Indiana State by 5, Charleston Southern by 29— Flyers shot 71.1% inside the arc in those games. Dayton starts two seniors, two juniors; they’ve got three starters back from LY’s 21-12 team that went 13-5 in A-14 and made the NIT. Omaha lost its first two road games, by 14 at Wichita State, 15 at Colorado State; they astart two juniors, two sophs, re experience team #176 that doesn’t sub much (#335 minutes). Omaha has three starters back from LY’s 21-11 team that went 13-3 in Summit League.

Houston won its last five games with crosstownn rival Rice, beating Owls 79-68 LY, scoring 1.23 ppp; that was first series game in four years. Cougars split their first two games TV, losing 72-71 at home to BYU Saturday. Houston is experience team #278 that starts two sophs, two juniors- they lost four starters from LY’s 33-4 team that went 16-2 in AAC and lost in Sweet 16. Rice was down 20 at half Saturday at UCSB, but rallied o win 82-81, making 13-25 on arc. Owls start three sophs, two seniors, are experience team #259 that is getting 41.1% of its points on the arc.

Murray State beat Southern Illinois last two years by 8-28 points; Racers split their first two D-I games, losing by 19 at Tennessee (were up 12 early), beating Southern by 20; Murray turned ball over 24.5% of time in those games- they start two sophs, two seniors, have three starters back from LY’s 28-5 team that went 16-2 in OVC and beat Marquette in NCAA’s. SIU lost its last three games, scoring 55.3 ppg in losses by 2-9-16 points. Salukis start four seniors, are still experience team #209 that is making only 28.9% of its 3’s, while playing pace #344.

Iowa State won its first two home games by 36-18 points; they lost only road game at Oregon State. Cyclones have forced turnovers 24.3% of time so far (#43); they’re experience team #228 that starts two sophs, two seniors, has two starters back from LY’s 23-12 that went 9-9 in Big X and made NCAA’s. Southern Miss scored 66 ppg in losing its first two D-I games by 6-3 points, both on road; Golden Eagles are turning ball over 23.6% of tme, shooting 28.1% on arc- they’re experience team #184 that isn’t deep and has new coach.

Kansas won its last two games by 12-55 points after losing opener to Duke in NYC; Jayhawks have made 43.1% of their e’s so far- they’re experience team #234 that starts two sophs, two juniors. Kansas has has three starters back from LY’s 26-10 team that went 12-6 in Big X. This is Jayhawks’ last game before heading to Maui Classic. East Tennessee State won its first two games by 17-3 points; Bucs have forced turnovers 24.2% of time (#46) while making 41.5% of their 3’s. ETSU is experience team #50 that starts three seniors, two juniors.

Furman won its first three D-I games, with two road wins- they beat Loyola by 24 at home in their best win. Paladins force turnovers 25.8% of time (#23), are shooting 64.7% inside arc (#2)- they start two sophs, two juniors, are #172 experience team that has four starters back from LY’s 25-8 team that went 13-5 in SoCon, then made NIT. Alabama lost two of first three games, losing by 14 at URI last game (were down 22 in first half). Crimson Tide is turning ball over 22.9% of time, while playing pace #4- they’re #289 experience team that starts two juniors, one senior.

USC won its first four games, all by 10+ points, beating Portland of WCC by 11; Trojans forced turnovers 22.2% of time- opponents are shooting 39% inside arc against them. Trojans start two frosh, two seniors, have two starters back from LY’s 16-17 team that went 8-10 in Pac-12. Pepperdine won its last three games, scoring 81.3 ppg after losing opener 87-71 at Cal of Pac-12- their opponents are shooting 42.9% of their 3’s so far. Waves are making 38.6% of their 3’s; they start three juniors, one senior, are experience team #165 (#61 in continuity).

Home side won last three New Mexico-UTEP games; Lobos lost 88-76 here two years ago, but beat Miners 84-78 at home LY. UTEP beat New Mexico State by 15 in its only D-I game TY, with couple of non-D-I wins added in; Miners start two sophs, two juniors, are #195 experience team that is thin- their subs played 38:00 total vs NM State. New Mexico scored 93.3 ppg in winning its first three D-I games, by 27-15-10 points; they’re forcing turnovers 22.6% of time, making 39.7% of time. Lobos start three juniors, two seniors, are experience team #7.

Gonzaga won its first four games (vs sche #330), winning last game by 30 at Texas A&M; Zags made 42.3% of their 3’s so far, are shooting 63.2% inside arc- they’re #261 experience team that lost four starters from LY’s 33-4 team that went 17-1 in WCC, lost in Elite 8. Gonzaga waxed Tex-Arlington 89-55 at home LY, shooting 71% inside arc. UTA lost its last two games, by 7 at Nevada, by 20 at Oregon; Mavericks are shooting 26% on arc (#301)- their eFG% is #334. UTA starts two seniors, is experience team #196- they sub a lot (#6 bench minutes).
