A young couple worked hard, saved their money, then bought a Subway franchise in Seattle. They were making the American dream until the City imposed a new minimum wage. Four of 7 employees fired. Now at $15/hr moving to $16 in 2020, The couple only has two employees aged 43 and one older. The younger, hipper employees just did not work fast enough.

Whatever they paid Subway Corp. years ago will be a total flush; a real-life shame.

I invested the 11 minutes watching or more like listening to anon on Cortez and I want to hear more. The whole Climate Change model was made on 1988 mainframe 16MB computers which I have posted many times as too small to use water vapor which is 40% of the atmosphere so they just left it out of the equation.

If anyone thinks the Federals only want to help, ask yourself this question:
when the "save gas, drive 55" went into effect, why were superhighways that were safe to drive 70 mph downhill in the daytime suddenly unsafe over 55?

I did not pay attention in fairly flat Wisconsin, but when I saw speed traps on steep Alabama mountain descents, I could see it was about power. Picture this:
you are driving safely and driving to conserve fuel but while you thought you were gaining momentum downhill to ascend the next hill, you get a ticket for driving 65 in what used to be a 70 mph zone.

How Women Weaken Nations (and why men let them). This is another in anon's blog. He is clearly a UK speaking Englishman. The ten minutes watching is well worth it.

lol I was reading some comments on a yahoo story today about how Bill Gates said AOC tax plan won’t work because all it will do is make billionaires hide their money(he’s right of course)

Someone posted, “Mr. Gates is a strong proponent of MABA, make Alexandria a bartender again”.

Gave me a good laugh. Yahoo comment section > all other “news” sights. 99% ultra left slanted articles with 99% of commenters being ultra right. Always good for laughs.

AOC to her district ...

"We did it! We prevented 25,000 jobs and billions of outside dollars from coming into our district which would have spurred tons of economic activity!"

Whoever voted for this piece of shit should be embarrassed, ... And punched.

Runs Amazon out of NYC killing 25,000 working class jobs for her constituents she pretends to fight for ...

Accused (with strong evidence) of breaking ethics rules by hiring her boyfriend on staff ...

With Amazon NYC 'second HQ' deal canceled, Ocasio-Cortez now officially is a huge pro

From https://www.americanthinker.com/blog..._for_dems.html

The Amazon tax breaks, calculated to be worth $3 billion over a period of many years, were going to bring 25,000 high-paying jobs to Ocasio-Cortez's district in Queens and generate many times that sum in increased tax receipts, according to Cuomo and de Blasio, who exulted over the deal. But offering any kind of benefit to a big corporation founded and headed by the richest man in the world is anathema to the radical left.

Ocasio-Cortez may not fully realize that her political party is now the party of big business, trading government favors of all sorts for massive political donations (and censorship of conservatives on internet forums controlled by the tech giants).

But she has destroyed a key plan of the elders to revive a blue city and state that are hemorrhaging jobs, tax revenue, and middle-class residents. Even worse, she has sent a message to the tech plutocrats who are the new powers behind the scenes of the progressive left that any deals made with them cannot be guaranteed to come to fruition. This is a mortal threat to the cozy working relationships cultivated by wheeler-dealers like Pelosi and Schumer with their tech and financial mogul buddies.

Yesterday, in exulting over her victory, Sandy O revealed that she has no understanding at all about government finance, telling a reporter:

The city was paying for those jobs, so frankly, if we were willing to give Amazon three — if we were willing to give away $3 billion for this deal, we could invest those $3 billion in our district ourselves if we wanted to. We could hire out more teachers, we can fix our subways, we can put a lot of people to work for that money if we wanted to.

As Marc Thiessen first noted, Sandy apparently thinks there were three billion dollars in a bank that was given to Amazon, so it is available to be used elsewhere on all the goodies she mentions.

But of course, the three billion was merely a rebate on taxes that otherwise would have been paid by Amazon over a period of years. With no deal, there will be no such tax payments. Not the three billion, nor any of the taxes above that amount that Amazon would have been paying.

Amazon VP of operations just schooled her on her baseless claims that their employees work in “dehumanizing” conditions where they have to piss in bottles. She is hilarious, only 17,000 people voted for her, which is about half the number of jobs amazon would have brought where employees get health benefits from day 1 and make a minimum of 15$ per hour. Yes, I realize 15$ an hour isn’t much, especially for NYC but the employees wouldn’t have been coming from manhattan I would guess. 15$/hour with health benefits is a lot more than starting pay for most low education/skill jobs

Under the United States Constitution and congressional practice, Members of Congress may have their services ended prior to the normal expiration of their constitutionally established terms of office by their resignation or death, or by action of the house of Congress in which they are a Member by way of an “expulsion,” or by a finding that in accepting a subsequent “incompatible”
public office, the Member would be deemed to have vacated his congressional seat.

Under Article I, Section 5, clause 2, of the Constitution, a Member of Congress may be removed from office before the normal expiration of his or her constitutional term by an “expulsion” from the Senate (if a Senator) or from the House of Representatives (if a Representative) upon a formal vote on a resolution agreed to by two-thirds of the Members of that body present and voting. While there are no specific grounds for an expulsion expressed in the Constitution, expulsion actions in both the House and the Senate have generally concerned cases of perceived disloyalty to the United States or the conviction of a criminal statutory offense which involved abuse of one’s official position. Each house has broad authority as to the grounds, nature, timing, and procedure for an expulsion of a Member. However, policy considerations, as opposed to questions of authority, have appeared to restrain the Senate and House in the exercise of expulsion when it might be considered as infringing on the electoral process, such as when the electorate knew of the past misconduct under consideration and still elected or re-elected the Member.

The Republicans, if they are smart, if this comes up should vote to keep AOC.

Quote:
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.
Proverbs 17:28

Modern version:

Quote:
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.
— ABRAHAM LINCOLN.
